Of all the basic requirements, apart from food, clothing and shelter, basic medical care facilities are very important for a person to lead a normal life. In USA it is a fact that medical care facilities are very expensive, especially if a person is not covered under any private insurance. Unlike many socialistic countries, medical care facilities in the USA have to be met mostly by individual resources, i.e. by taking up a private medical insurance policy.
However medical care facilities can be considered effective only if they are of the highest standards. These highest standards begin with the quality of doctors. Becoming a doctor is not an easy job and it calls for a long grind which includes a minimum of 4 years in college. Just passing out may not be enough if one is aspiring to be a good doctor. The person has to pass out with good grades and additionally he or she has to practice for a further period of 4 years before starting practice.
A good medical care facility also underscores the need to have a good set of nurses and nursing assistants. They perform a very important role in supporting the qualified doctors to perform their duties properly. They do some precious jobs such as checking blood pressure, heart and pulse rate, temperature, etc.
In far flung areas which are located in remote areas the health clinics also play a big role is offering primary health care treatments. Apart from this each medical care facility should also have a separate facility for treating emergency admissions such as accidents, trauma, shocks, burns, etc.
In conclusion a medical care can be said to be good only if it supported by a very good infrastructure apart from possessing the human assets in the form of qualified doctors, nurses and attendants.
